Pinconning Middle School is currently in their third year of implementation of the Focused Instructional Model. This year, their Middle School Dean, Karen Chesney, has started the “Great Eight” which highlights the students scoring an 8/8 on each Progress Monitoring Test.
The Middle School has also charged the students with graphing their data on the grade level pictograph displayed for the school to see using anonymous data. Each class comes down and places a sticker for that Progress Monitoring Test where they each scored Individually, creating a whole grade level chart shown below.
Students look forward to charting their data weekly along with having their name displayed on the “Great Eight” wall when scoring an 8/8. Teacher Kristen Maxwell commented how her students were looking forward to seeing their name up as they had received an 8/8. Great job Pinconning Middle School on highlighting student achievement while having students own their own data. Keep up the great work!
