The success of the Godfrey-Lee high School has been significant. You might remember from last month’s issue that over the past two years they have moved from the bottom five percent of schools in the state to the sixty-third percentile in the state.
At the Michigan School Improvement State Conference held on November 9, 2012, the teachers and leaders of the school shared their success with other schools which are struggling to make academic gains. During their presentation academic leaders shared how they tackled issues impacting student achievement at their school including climate and culture, college readiness and student ownership for learning. Congratulations to the Godfrey-Lee team! We are proud of the leadership role they have taken in the reform movement.
