One-On-One Coaching

Ongoing job-embedded coaching is vital to implementing sustained changes in a school environment as it ensures that new learning is carried out with fidelity. IEE’s coaches work side-by-side with educators, modeling new methods and co-teaching in classrooms, for the specific purpose of empowering educators to make continued improvements to their practice. Our team of experienced coaches offers expertise in a variety of areas, such as leadership, instruction, content-area specialties, data, and technology.

OUR MOST REQUESTED COACHES

New Teacher Coach

New Teacher Coaches help 1st and 2nd year teachers build a successful classroom culture and support student learning. Together they will examine the common pitfalls of classroom management, work through systems and solutions that keep students on task and set expectations for a culture of learning in their classroom.

Numeracy Coach

IEE Numeracy Coaches typically work with math teachers to explore best teaching practices, student engagement strategies, and cooperative learning ideas.  A Numeracy Coach might model strategies or co-teach with the classroom teacher.  Discussing and reflecting about formative assessment data can help math teachers make the best possible decisions for their students.

Literacy Coach

A Literacy Coach from IEE typically works with ELA or social studies teachers, but have also spent time in science and math classrooms when the opportunity arises.  Literacy Coaches could model or co-teach.  They might facilitate discussions about how to ensure students are engaged and learning.

Leadership Coach

Our coaches at IEE come from a diverse background, with varying experiences in the field of education.  Many of our coaches are former principals or superintendents.  IEE Leadership Coaches work closely with school leaders to help them navigate the ups and downs of principalship.

Culture and Climate Coach

Schools often focus on social-emotional learning alongside academic rigor.  Culture and Climate Coaches can help implement systems that promote positive behavior.  They might discuss appropriate reward systems and help make discipline decisions.  They look to create a safe atmosphere where students feel safe to explore their thinking and are excited to learn.

Data Coach

IEE Data Coaches can help schools organize and prioritize data that is constantly pouring into schools.  Data Coaches often break down NWEA data, standardized test results, pre- and post-test data, and look for trends.  Teachers and school leaders sometimes feel overwhelmed by incoming data; our Data Coaches can help make sure data is driving decision making.

Focused Instructional Model Coach

A FIM Coach works on-site with teachers to ensure that the Focused Instructional Model is being implemented.  FIM Coaches can model and will hold reflective conversations with teachers.  They can help organize FIM data and make sure teachers are comfortable implementing the system.

COGNITIVE COACHING

Our coaches use Cognitive Coaching to mediate adult thinking and learning. While coaching provides teachers and school leaders with a “thought partner” as they apply their new learning and changes to their practice, it is Cognitive Coaching that systematically changes educator practice and ultimately improves educator effectiveness.

ADAPTIVE SCHOOLS

We use the Adaptive Schools model to build collaborative capacities in schools. Collaborative capacities hold shared responsibilities for student learning. They value continuous learning and seek opportunities to learn and grow from one another. This model had been hailed as “life changing” and served as the “a-ha” moment for school leaders across the country.

Vision, Mission, Beliefs

Our Vision

We want to see a world where every educator fosters a learning environment where all children are excited about learning, their natural curiosities are nurtured, and they use innovation and creativity to solve real-world problems in preparation to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Our Mission

Through professional development and coaching, IEE serves as a catalyst to empower educators to exceed the demands of an ever-evolving education environment in order to meet the unique learning needs of every student.

Our Beliefs

Our team's shared beliefs are built from a passion to provide every student with excellent learning opportunities.

  • All decisions, big or small, must be made by placing the needs of students first.
  • Relationships matter...they matter a whole lot, and must be built and maintained with students and colleagues.
  • All sustainable, deep school improvement and change must take place from the inside out.
  • The adults in every school control all the variables necessary to ensure success for all students.
  • The quality of adult conversations in schools mediates student success.
  • Collaboration is not optional, it is absolutely essential to meet the needs of 21st century learners and collaboration is a skill that must be learned and practiced.
  • Individuals' behaviors are governed by the identities and beliefs they hold.
  • There is not a curriculum, a program, or a strategy that can substitute for effective teaching.
  • Data must consistently and consciously guide decisions around teaching and learning.
  • Coaching supports teachers and administrators as they become self-directed, reflective learners.

We have a Coach for that!
