Instructional Coach
Deedra Baker is an Instructional Coach at The Institute for Excellence in Education where she coaches teachers to improve instruction in mathematics by looking at data and thinking of student successes that drive learning. Deedra has 23 years as a public-school educator under her belt, which has included elementary and middle school teaching. She has also been trained in multiple literacy strategies to help struggling readers. Deedra helps teachers and school leaders to make informed instructional decisions based on student needs.
Deedra is a wife and mom of 3 (the youngest is a high school senior this year!) from Frankenmuth, Michigan. She is also a health coach which brings her lots of joy helping people reach their goals.
Deedra earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Saginaw Valley State University in elementary education and reading.
