IEE is seeking school grant partners
The Institute for Excellence in Education is in the process of writing proposals for three grant opportunities and we are looking for teachers, schools and districts to participate. Below are the three opportunities and the steps you need to take to be included in the application.
Opportunity 1: Teacher Residency Program
This grant works with local districts to fill high needs teaching positions. In a partnership with Saginaw Valley State University candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree but do not have certification will be placed in a yearlong substitute teaching positions. They will receive course work and professional development culminating in certification.

Opportunity 2: Middle School Social Emotional Learning
This grant is focused on providing social emotional learning opportunities embedded in the academic activities of the classroom. The IEE FIM model will deliver academic and SEL learning to students in middle schools.

Opportunity 3: Early Elementary Mathematics
This grant is focused on k-2 mathematics. The project implements the IEE FIM mathematics program including the mathematical milestones tool. Teachers will utilize FIM in their classroom, monitor student progress and adjust intervention supports to ensure that every student is on target for exiting second grade.
