Instructional Coach
Shelley Rieger is an Instructional Coach at The Institute for Excellence in Education where she coaches teachers and school leaders around FIM Mathematics. Shelley has been a highly effective elementary teacher and instructional coach for 30+ years. She has taught at the college level for both ODU in Virginia and SVSU in Michigan. Shelley has
increased her educational knowledge and expertise through participation in the Smithsonian Institute’s Academy for Teachers, Intel Mathematics, Adaptive Schools, Cognitive Coaching, and numerous other professional development programs. Recognized as a leader, Shelley was involved in district-level leadership teams, School Improvement teams, and state-level literacy coaching. She also serves on the DRC’s M-Step Review team in Lansing.
Shelley is an avid traveler and enjoys outdoor sports.
Shelley earned her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University and her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from San Diego State University.
