Cognitive Coaching Foundation Training

June 19, 2023 @ 9:00 am - June 22, 2023 @ 3:30 pm

$600

Dates:
June 19 - 22, 2023

We know that implementing the changes necessary to reach your school improvement goals is not easy. Excellence cannot be mandated and behavior changes cannot be demanded.

At IEE, we rely on the Cognitive Coaching™ method to facilitate change in schools by mediating adult thinking and learning. While coaching provides teachers and school leaders with a “thought partner” as they apply new learning and changes to their practice, it is Cognitive Coaching™ that systematically changes educator practice and ultimately improves educator effectiveness.

The mission of Cognitive Coaching™ is to produce self-directed persons with the cognitive capacity for excellence both independently and as members of a community. Research indicates that teaching is a complex intellectual activity and that teachers who think at higher levels produce students who are higher achieving, more cooperative, and better problem solvers. It is the invisible skills of teaching – the thinking processes that underlie instructional decisions – which produce superior instruction. Cognitive Coaching™ is a research-based model that capitalizes upon and enhances teachers’ cognitive processes.

At our four-day workshop you’ll learn how to use Cognitive Coaching™ as a model for working with your teachers and school leaders to establish a culture of high expectations, where trust and respect serve as the foundation for your school’s long-term success.
