Accelerate Learning: Scaffolding with FIM

Schools around the country are gearing up to refocus on learning while supporting student
emotional needs. Providing meaningful support means engaging students in content with
activities that close the gap created from lack of instruction during the pandemic. Educators
should provide scaffolded opportunities in order to accelerate learning. The Institute for
Excellence in Education’s (IEE) Focused Instructional Model (FIM) does exactly that. FIM also
provides the social emotional support that our students so desperately need.
